What is creativity?

Creativity is defined as the propensity to generate or distinguish ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be helpful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining others and ourselves.

Creativity is any act, idea, or product that changes an current field, or that transforms an existing field into a new one...What counts is whether the originality he or she produces is established for inclusion in the field

In order to be creative, you need to be able to analyze things in new ways or from a different viewpoint. Among other things, you need to be able to produce new possibilities or new alternatives. Tests of creativity determine not only the number of alternatives that people can generate but also the uniqueness of those alternatives. The ability to generate alternatives or to see things uniquely does not occur by change; it is linked to other, more fundamental qualities of thinking, such as plasticity, tolerance of ambiguity or unpredictability, and the delight of things heretofore unknown.

Ways to use your creativity?

Persons who express strange thoughts, who are interesting and exciting - in short, people who appear to unusually bright.People who experience the world in novel and original ways. These are (personally creative) individuals whose insights are fresh, whose judgments are intuitive, who may make imperative discoveries that only they know about.

Folks who have change our culture in some vital way. Because their success is by definition public, it is easier to write about them.
